The Chef and his team
David Gallienne: born and bred in the region, inspired by his travels
Born and bred in the area, David Gallienne is the worthy heir to his grandfather, the man who introduced him to the pleasures of gardening, fishing, mushroom picking and snail collecting from an early age. As a boy, David discovered a passion for eating good food; later on, it seemed only natural that he should study at a hotel management school.
From Alençon to Rouen and Bagnols-de-l’Orne, the Chef learned his trade in the kitchens of several Michelin-starred restaurants in Normandy. Although he is an unconditional fan of the region in which he was born and grew up, David Gallienne is also a keen traveller and never misses an opportunity to visit far-flung destinations to experience new cultures and savour new flavours. Indeed, it was during a trip to learn more about Japanese cuisine that he met Éric Guérin, who was then the chef and owner of Le Jardin des Plumes.
In 2017, David Gallienne joined him at Giverny. Two years later, Éric Guérin left and David Gallienne took centre stage: in early 2020, he was thrilled to become the owner of the hotel and gourmet restaurant in Normandy.
Le Jardin des Plumes has brought people together on an incredible adventure. Chef David Gallienne has surrounded himself with committed and passionate ambassadors who work alongside him every day to transform this hotel and gourmet restaurant into an unmissable address in Normandy.
